Denny Mears, Archery Artisan Will Be Missed

The archery community has suffered a great loss.  I barely new Denny Mears. We were only fiends on Facebook, so it was surprising that his passing hit me so hard.  Denny was a bowyer and the owner, operator of Jerbowden Archery Shop.

Dennis S. Mears, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Meadville Medical Center in Pennsylvania.  He was 68 years old.  You can read his Obituary here:

Denny was always willing to share his archery knowledge. He was a man of faith, and a a Navy Veteran.  Those of us who had the opportunity to be acquainted with Denny were surely blessed.  My heart goes out to those who really knew him. The archery community and the world has suffered a great loss in the passing of  Denny Mears. He will surely be missed. My hope is that this post and the links within will allow folks in the archery community to get to know Denny and his work even after he is gone.

Denny was my father . He helped so many people during his life and loved traditional archery with a passion .a man after Gods own heart and he had a true love for the outdoors . He will be greatly missed but his memory lives on . My brother plans to continue my fathers legacy and create custom bows the way my father did
