Today I had the pleasure of spending some time with some very nice little girls and their instructor from The Pathfinder School. It was my pleasure to teach a class on Leather Working so that they may get their badges. You see, the Pathfinders are a group very similar to the Girl Scouts. The difference is that the Pathfinders proudly maintain a Christian forefront.
During this class we discussed safety, the tools of the job, and I gave the girls an opportunity to see some of the more complex work that we do here at Rasher Quivers. After covering the basics the Pathfinders got the opportunity to create some leather pieces of their own. We started with basic embossing on a key chain and built up to their own creativity as they worked on projects of their own. It was fun to see their talents grow in such a short amount of time.
Key chains and hair pieces were the center of interest today, but we hope to expand on the options as we get the opportunity to teach more classes. It was a pleasure to meet this fine group of Pathfinders. I hope that they enjoyed my class as much as I enjoyed giving it.
